Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar praises Odisha sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik for spreading the message of eradication of open defecation. Bhumi Pednekar, who acted in ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’, also praised Sudarsan.
Sudarsan created sand sculptures on the beach at Puri on Tuesday, sensitising people to use toilet. “Thank you for spreading our message so artistically,” tweeted Akshay Kumar. Bhumi too gave a pat to Pattnaik. “Thank you sir for being this symbol of change our society needs and supporting this cause,” she tweeted.
Sudarsan said he was honoured after being greeted by the Bollywood actors. “I have been raising several issues through my art across the globe. My purpose is to sensitise people about cleanliness and hygiene. I appreciate the actors for taking up the social issue through cinema,” Sudarsan said.
Toilet Ek Prem Katha is a satirical comedy film in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a campaign to improve the sanitation conditions in the country, with emphasis on the eradication of open defecation in public areas, especially in the rural regions.
