Measles is a highly contagious viral disease which usually causes a full-body rash and respiratory inflammation. There is no cure for measles, but since the development of a vaccine in the 1960s, it has become relatively easy to prevent.

diarrhea or vomiting and delirium in severe cases.
1. Neem Leaves
Neem leaves are considered to be the most effective home remedies of treating measles. You need to add some neem leaves to the lukewarm bath water and then take bath. It helps to relieve the itching tendency significantly and help you cope with the discomforts caused by measles.
You can also spread a lot of neem leaves on your bed and sleep over them to get soothing effect. Neem leaves are known to have great medicinal properties and can help reduce itching. Before taking bath or sleeping over neem leaves, make sure they are fresh and clean.
2. Orange Juice
Orange is a tremendous source for healing measles. A patient of measles generally experiences loss of appetite. Since orange juice is rich in vitamin C, it perks up the taste buds and boosts the appetite. So, consume it two times a day.
Barley is packed with abundant minerals, vitamin C and antioxidants. It contains high amount of zinc that helps healing the disease faster. Take one cup of barley and mix it in 3 cups of water.
Boil it on low heat, until the water reduces to half. After the mixture cools down, strain it. Add salt and sugar to taste. Drink 2-3 glasses daily for 30 days.
It will surely give you relief from the cough caused due to measles. Alternatively, you can flavor this drink with some drops of sweetened almond oil.
4. Bitter Gourd Leaves
Leaves from the bitter gourd plant can also help in treating measles effectively. You need to mix some leaves of bitter gourd with about half a teaspoon turmeric powder along with some honey. Try to consume this healthy mixture once a day on a daily basis to treat measles.
5. Coconut water
Coconut water has plenty of nutrients and comes with natural sugar that flushes out toxic elements from your body and helps you recover fast from measles. You can also eat its flesh that is rich in antioxidants.
6. Calendula Flower
Calendula flowers are loaded with several essential minerals that speed up the healing process of the body. Boil 3 cups of water, and then add 1 tbsp of the powdered flower. Drain this solution and drink it two times a day till the symptoms persist. You can add peppermint oil and/or sugar for more effective results.
